Introduce yourself briefly

I was born and raised in Ålesund, am married to Dane, and have a little girl, Elana Isabel. I´m a sociable person and enjoy being around people.

What do you do at church?

Play piano/keys in the worship band. Sunday school teacher and leader. I also lead the service once a month.

Why do you choose to spend your free time on voluntary work?

I enjoy it and simply want to contribute. I think there is so much God has given me, that I want to give back by helping out in His house.

Who is God to you?

For me, God is a father and not least a good friend. Always good to be able to talk to Him about anything and everything.

Can you describe a typical Sunday in Sunday school?

We start by dancing and singing a little. Then we share about our week, pray about what´s on the kids´ hearts, followed by a lesson with questions at the end. It finishes with games, activities and sometimes drawing.

Why is Sunday school important?

I want the children to learn about Jesus in a fun way. Get to know Him. It is important that they already have Jesus in their hearts as young people. They are the future and it is important to invest time in them. It is important that they thrive and have fun in church.

Has it been important for your faith to go to Sunday school as a child?

Yes, absolutely. Of course, it was not as easy to understand God's love, Jesus and the various Bible stories as a child. Maybe I didn't think too much about it then, but looking back, it has certainly played a significant role in the development of my faith.

What's the best thing you've heard in Sunday school?

What I remember most was when we learned about God's grace and forgiveness. I sometimes thought about the "crazy" things I did as a child. Maybe a little afraid that God would be angry with me. But then we talked about forgiveness, and how God did not remember the sins we had committed when we asked for forgiveness. I think that's the best thing I heard in Sunday school. I remembered that I got peace in my heart.
