India

Through the remote adoption project CREATE A CHANGE, several hundred children from poor families in India get a new start in life. As a sponsor, you help give a child hope for a brighter future! The child receives 3 meals a day, simple medical treatment, school attendance and school materials.

The project is managed by the Sentermenigheten in Asker, and Vonkirka has since 2007 been engaged in arranging for sponsors for children in various villages.

In order to give more sponsored children the opportunity for higher education, we built a boarding school in Pithapuram in 2010. The income from our annual flea market has since then financed an extension to the boarding school as well as the purchase of furniture and equipment. In addition, we have helped finance a new childcare center in Vijajavada and the construction of wells in several villages. Through the work in India, we have seen change in people's lives and seen that children who had no future have been given hope.

Philippines

In 2014 we began to look into how we could contribute in the Philippines, and at the end of the year a team from the church visited various congregations in Olongapo and Tarlac. In 2015, the mission gift from our annual flea market went to support a new church building in Tarlac, where Pastor Tani Nicdao leads a congregation. The wish is that through this congregation, we can carry out aid work in the Philippines.
